What to Expect On Your First Visit

On your initial
visit to our office you will be warmly welcomed. You can
expect to complete forms that help us gain information about yourself and your condition.
New Patient History
Once the paperwork is completed, you will have an
opportunity to discuss your health related concerns with Dr. Reutzel. You will be asked questions regarding your
symptoms, medical history, home and work environments, any previous accidents, etc. He will ask specific questions
about your general health and your spinal health. Your blood pressure and pulse will be checked.
New Patient History
In addition to recording your history and symptoms a through
neurological and orthopedic examination will be performed. Dr. Reutzel will observe
specific range of motion movements for the neck and back such as walking, turning, bending, reflexes and posture.
He will also complete an exam of the spine by feeling the muscles and bones of the spinal column, If necessary
x-rays will be ordered.
Based on Dr. Reutzel's assessment,
a discussion will follow to determine if you
are a good candidate for chiropractic care. If so, your diagnosis, prognosis, course of recommended treatment
will be explained. If not, Dr. Reutzel will refer you to a specialist he feels can provide you with the
appropriate medical care. Always remember that you may ask questions. If you understand your care we find that you can
Same Day Treatment
Once the history, examination and consultation is completed,
our patients will typically be provided with their first treatment during the same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physiotherapy, and/or
soft tissue therapies.
Dr. Reutzel will share some instructions on
how to help yourself with your condition. We are available to assist you
with questions or emergency needs.
