Why Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the largest natural healing art in the world. It is based on the premise that the body is a self healing organism and that the nervous system is the master control system of the body. Remember that the nervous system controls every function performed by the body either directly or indirectly. Any problem can be improved with a better functioning nervous system. Chiropractic helps the nervous system function better by removing blockages that may be preventing you from achieving a higher state of health.

Both infants and adults can benefit from chiropractic care.
In the chiropractic world, keeping the problem fixed and
  preventing its
recurrence is just as important as
  initial remedy.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a method of healing without drugs or surgery using the body's innate recuperative powers. Chiropractic incorporates the structural relational between bones, nerves and muscles and their effect on the health of the body. Chiropractors use procedures that include the adjustment and manipulation of bones and joints, especially the spine and surrounding areas. Chiropractic treatment not only includes treatment of the back and neck pain but also many other problems caused by dysfunction in the spinal and peripheral joints, nerves and muscle.

How does Chiropractic work?

The human body possesses natural ability to restore itself. The ability depends on a healthy nervous system. Life's events such as automobile accidents, sport injuries, repetitive work and home stress are just some of the factors that cause the spine to lock up, limiting range of motion. Spinal joint restrictions and/or misalignments result in irritation and/or pressure on the spinal nerve. Chiropractic care can restore these structural distortions, restoring the body to its optimal form and function.

What is subluxation?

This is the term for a misalignment. A vertebral subluxation is a misalignment of the bones that protect the spinal cord.  The severity of the subluxation can vary and there are a variety of potential contributing factors that can be physical, emotional or chemical. The subluxation can be caused by any number of incidents, from birth to an automobile accident to a simple repetition or overuse. If your nervous system is interfered with, your body's natural ability to heal itself and function at its optimal potential becomes impaired. A subluxation is a perfect example of how structure effects function. When a subluxation occurs a Chiropractor can correct this misaligned bone and allow it to return to proper position. This procedure is properly called adjustment and the adjustment enables the body to heal.
